TopSummit is a live, paid-ranked billboard on a 3D flyover of the real Mount Everest route. There are exactly twenty-eight sponsor spots — one for each waypoint a climber passes between the airstrip at Lukla and the summit at 29,032 ft. Scrolling the page flies you up the actual Khumbu valley, rendered from real elevation data and satellite imagery, past every flag on the mountain.

Why it exists

In late August 2026, catastrophic flash floods hit Nepal's border districts, killing hundreds of people and leaving thousands missing. TopSummit was built in the days after, as a way to turn a fun internet status game into steady funding for the response: 50% of every dollar spent on the mountain is donated to Save the Children's Nepal flood response, and we also send donations to Nepal's Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund. Donation receipts are published on the main page as transfers are made.

How the game works

The terrain is real

The mountain you fly over is built from open elevation data (Mapzen/AWS Open Data Terrain Tiles) draped with Sentinel-2 cloudless satellite imagery by EOX IT Services GmbH (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0). The waypoints follow the real South Col climbing route — Base Camp, the Khumbu Icefall, the Western Cwm, the Lhotse Face, the South Col, the Balcony, the summit — with coordinates that are close, though approximate.

TopSummit.lol is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, Save the Children, the Government of Nepal, or any organization named on this site. Payments are processed by Dodo Payments as merchant of record. The concept is a homage to the claim-the-top-floor idea popularized by TopFloor.Company — also not affiliated.
